Overview and Features

If you have more than one child, then you know a good double stroller is essential, especially if you love taking trips with the family or need to bring the kids along when you run errands.

Delta Children City Street LX Side by Side Stroller

Product Rating: (4.5/5)

  • Easy to use folding mechanism
  • Lightweight design
  • Cupholders for the kids and parents
  • Five-point harness
  • Easy to maneuver

Typically, side-by-side double strollers are bulky, heavy, and difficult to manage. But this model is different. Weighing in at just eighteen pounds, you can easily fold, lift, and haul this stroller, wherever you go. The strollers frame is made out of aluminum alloy tubing, which is what helps to keep the weight down.

Max User Weight

This stroller can handle a max weight of thirty-five pounds per seat, or seventy pounds total. For some, this weight limit will be a big drawback, since it significantly limits the length of time you’re able to use it. As you know, toddlers grow at a rapid rate, which means you may only get three to six months out of this stroller before you have to upgrade.

The stroller comes with a large parent cup holder, and two mounting points, so you can choose to place the cup holder on the right or left.

Unfortunately, this model doesn’t come with an under the seat storage bin, which most models in this price range do. For some parents, this feature is a must since it’s the best place to store diaper bags and other supplies. Fortunately, the manufacturer included a couple of large hanging storage bags, which you can use to carry all of your gear, although they may not be large enough to accommodate a bigger diaper bag.

Each of the seats can recline independently. Parents can choose from multiple positions, which will allow both children to enjoy a nap when you’re out and about.

This model is equipped with a couple of five-point harnesses, complete with padded shoulder pads.

The canopies extend only one foot over the seat, so they don’t provide much protection from the sun.

Usually, getting a side-by-side through a doorway can be a real challenge. Fortunately, the highly maneuverable design allows you to easily fit through doorways with no problems. Additionally, the shocks on the front of the stroller will give you more options in terms of where this stroller can go. It can handle grass, gravel, dirt, and sidewalks well, although it’s not designed for true off-road use.

On the front of the stroller, you’ll find a total of three pairs of swivel wheels, in addition to built-in suspension. On the back of the stroller are a couple of pairs of stationary wheels. These wheels provide a safe and smooth ride, while also making the stroller easy to push and steer.

The rear wheels are equipped with parking brakes that allow you to quickly lock the wheels in place to prevent the stroller from rolling away.

Advantages and Disadvantages

  • Easy to use folding mechanism
  • Lightweight design
  • Cupholders for the kids and parents
  • Five-point harness
  • Easy to maneuver

  • Low max weight limit
  • Canopies don’t provide adequate protection from the sun

This model can easily handle crowds, small doorways, and busy malls. Aside from a great wheel design, the lightweight frame makes it easy to haul and transport the stroller. The only real issue you’ll run into is the smaller than average canopies, which don’t provide much protection from the sun. If you usually have trouble learning how to fold a stroller, then you’ll love the fast folding mechanism that allows you to quickly fold the stroller down to a compact bundle for carrying or hauling. Overall, this is a tough, well-built stroller that’s a total steal for the price.

How Does this Model Measure Up to the Competition?

The Kolcraft Cloud Double Umbrella Stroller is the top competing model, however, right off the bat I noticed that this particular stroller isn’t a good option for smaller children since it only comes equipped with a three-point harness instead of the recommended five-point harness. Both strollers come equipped with many of the same features, but the lack of a reliable harness will be a deal-breaker for many parents. However, it does outshine this model by Delta Children with it’s larger than average canopies, which makes it a better choice if you’re looking for a stroller to use for the hotter months of the year. Both are available in a similar price bracket, but if you have younger children, you’ll need to pass the Kolcraft model by.
